General Electric MWF Refrigerator Water Filter (2-Pack) is easy to replace with no special tools required. No need to even turn off the water, simply turn the filter to the left to remove. A check valve stops water flow and prevents leakage. Insert a new filter and turn to the right. It replaces GE water filter part numbers GWF, GWFA, GWF01, GWF06, MWFA, and Hotpoint HWF, HWFA . This GE water filter works with a wide-range of GE and Hotpoint models and should be replaced every six months. An adapter may be needed if you have the following filters: FXRC, FXRT, MXRC, HXRT, WR97X10006, and Kenmore 46-9905.

Couldn't be Easier By Riyad Kalla
Shipped immediately, took it out of the box, ignored all the instructions and warnings as men do, unscrewed the other one, put this one in, filled up 2 big glasses of water to "flush it" and that was it.
Maybe 5mins worth of effort?
Not sure what else to say in a review of this item, worked great in our GE fridge.

Matches exactly with original filter By V. Jonnalagadda
The item exactly matches with original filter. The original filter is type GWF "Smart Water Plus" for GE refrigerator type PSS26LGRB WW.
It took hardly couple of minutes to replace the filter. We have observed the new filter for the last few weeks and we have not faced any problem so far.
